He is a small dog. A much larger dog attacked him and caught him in the eye.
The eye was still bleeding heavily when his family opened the campaign. Without treatment he risks losing the eye altogether, or the injury turning into a brain infection. His family cannot cover the cost of emergency care.
The campaign does not give his name — we're calling him Whittier, after the town he lives in.
