Her injured eye can't be saved. It has to be removed to prevent worse pain later.
Luna's eye was injured a couple of weeks ago. Her family took her straight to the vet, and after treatment and several follow-ups she was referred to a veterinary eye specialist in the hope the eye could still be saved.
It cannot. It now needs to be surgically removed to prevent future pain and complications. She is otherwise well and not in significant discomfort.
The surgery and related care are estimated at $3,500 to $4,000. Luna is five.
